Alice Andrews, author of Trine Erotic and editor of the online journal Entelechy is a freelance writer and editor, and teaches psychology and evolutionary theory in upstate New York. She received her BA in philosophy from Barnard College, Columbia University in 1989 and her MA in developmental psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1993.

Alice contacted Wyatt to voice her interest in a feature article in which he criticized junk attraction research from evolutionary psychologists at Cornell University. Alice also "wanted to connect" over what she called a "culture of careerism and disinterest in nurturing passion in students on questions regarding the psyche and human nature." Alice was particularly drawn to Wyatt's essays on Materialism ("Brain on my Mind"), Counterfeit Freedom, and ADHD Science. "In a nutshell, it's an epistemic problem," describes Alice. "What's this 'knowledge' I'm teaching them? And "an appearance/reality problem related to the what's-my-purpose (in teaching class) problem." Just as Wyatt felt as a graduate student instructor, Alice once felt constrained by pressures to manage a uniform classroom at a university for which she had been required to use a mandated textbook.

Trine Erotic (Vivisphere Publishing, 2002) is a novel of metafiction which explores evolutionary theory and postmodern theory. Trine Erotic is a novel of stories-within-stories, all thematically related and connected to one another. It explores why we write: to seduce, to process, to heal ourselves and ultimately readers, to find meaning. It's concerned with art and culture's ability to influence our lives. And it attempts to address the questions of love that preoccupy us, like passionate love versus companionate love, selfish love and selfless love, and it looks at love through a triune system, which Andrews calls: evolution, experience, and culture.
